All the Rage in LFA: Rompers!

As the week of finals come to a close, LFA is getting ready for summer! What's our go-to piece for the season? Rompers, of course! Perfect for any occasion, you just can't go wrong with this essential item. For a day time look accesorize a neutral tone one-piece with a brown belt and gladiator sandals. Looking to find a sexy and comfortable look for night? Go for a romper that is made of a sheer fabric (but not to sheer!) in a plum shade with a spruce of ruffles. Pair it with black pumps and you're ready to take on the night. And last but not least, reach for a tribal print romper with rope-detailing when the weather begins to warm up and it's time to hit the beach.

Stay tuned to FAB: Fashion At Babson all summer long to find fashion tips to make Summer 2011 your most fashionable summer yet.

Campus Trends-

Fellow Fashion Lovers,

I hope you all are enjoying the amazing spring weather today! The featured fashionista this week is Babson first-year student Kelly Hoover. I spotted her in Trim Dining Hall sporting this super cute pastel, springy outfit. Her light blue patterned skirt is absolutely adorable paired with her cream top and precious matching sparkle flats! However, my favorite part of this look is the light tan leather jacket because it puts a springy twist on the ever popular leather jacket trend.

Keep dressing with style!

Miracle foundation but not foundation: BB cream (Blemish Balm Cream)

Does fundation make you breakout? Does it make you feel and look as if you are wearing makeup no matter how much you try to blend it? Liquid, cream, mouse, pressed powder, loose powder, and cream to liquid powder... WOW that just made Me dizzzy. So which one should you use? or have you already given up? Don't worry, the answer to all foundation problems is using what is called BB creams. BB creams are multifuntional products that combine cosmetics and skin care products in to on product. They are used as foundation that contains properties that moisturizes, covers up while rejuvenating your skin. Some have whitening and wrinkle repair properties as well as SPF features. Unlike foundatiosn, the color seeps into the skin naturally therefore it hardly seems like on e has makeup on yet still creating a flawless finish. BB creams does not clog pores while creating a no makeup look.
Don't believe me? Try them out.

My pick: Missha's M perfect cover BB cream SPF 42++ PA

Spotted: Casual and Cute Weekend Look

Happy Weekend Everyone :)

First of all, I want to give a shoutout to everyone that came to see Ke$ha perform at Babson last night, you all looked "sleazy" yet fabulous! It is an absolutely beautiful day outside here in Babson Park, and everyone on campus is dressed in spring mode. This weeks featured fashionista, Melissa, was spotted wearing this adorable look that is perfect for a Saturday afternoon. Her cropped jeans paired with a pastel pink open cardigan are the perfect casual spring look. Most of all, I am in love with her accessories. Her big shades, anchor necklace, and white bejeweled bow sandals are truly what sets this look apart. I cannot wait to continue seeing more amazing spring looks from all of you.

Crafty Fashion

It seems that designers are going big with woven and braided patterns for apparel, shoes, and accessories! I know I love the boho look, and I recommend trying it as well. This trend is super chic for a day of shopping or simply when you want to be relaxed but cayute! Try doing a braided hairstyle with these items and you will definitely be LFA FAB!!! Stay trendilicious ladies!!

All the Rage in LFA - Get it Bright, Get it Right

LFA's slogan of the week? "Get it bright, get it right!" With the Ke$ha concert just around the corner, we are obsessing over bright, bold colors. If you're a neutrals girl like me, add a pop of color into the mix with accessories like wristlets and nail polish. More of a risk-taker? Go for the bold! There's nothing like a perfect coral dress to make a statement. Throw on some bright bangles and earrings and you'll be sure to standout. Remember ladies, if you want to get it right, you've gotta go bright!

LFA GENTLEMAN :Suit Accessorizing

Polish Time
A suit can be unexciting without the accompaniment of accessories. A suit can be accessorized with an pocket square in the suits front breast pocket, a tie bar and cuff links. Due to the conservative nature of the business world one should opt for a a crisp lily white pocket square with ones suit. The white cotton pocket square is timeless presenting the gentleman as detailed and polished. This simple accessory makes a dramatic difference on the appearance of a suit. The tie bar which is generally found in silver and gold continues with the conservative nature of the business world while making the suit appear refined and its wearer attentive to detail. Opting for a french cuff shirt gives the wearer the ability to display character by sporting cufflinks, which truly separates one from the flock. Avoid appearing dull and lackluster by accessorizing your suit with the great pieces I have mention above.

Keep your ties knotted and shoes polished until next time gentleman.

Campus Trends!

For our campus trends post, we will be featuring a girl or guy who stepped out on the Babson campus in the past week looking absolutely fabulous and fashionable! This week our featured fashionista is LFA's very own Lauren, who I caught wearing this super chic outfit. I love the way she took this bright and fun patterned dress (which also goes along with LFA's love for spring dresses this week) and gave it a unique "rocker" twist by adding an uber cool leather jacket and studded leather bag. Remember to dress with style when on campus, you may just become our featured fashionista of the week!

From the Runway to the Streets!

Hey FAB readers,
I've been looking at different house websites and fashion blogs, and I noticed that a major spring trend this year is long and frilly skirts! They come in so many different lengths, patterns, and colors. Below, you can see one of my favorite bloggers, Karla, rocking her long skirt real right! She is definitely trendalicious this Spring! I even bought one myself, and let me tell you: they are so comfortable!! Let's just say times are changing. No longer is the tight, hoochie, mini skirt the eye catcher. Fashion is changing to make girls more classy and respectable because the industry realizes that as we women walk into business world, medicine world, etc, we need not to drop jaws and increase heart rates with our "scandalous" outfits, but we need to simply make a statement...A bold one! So let's get it together ladies and grab one of these long skirts while they're hawt! See you next week FAB lovers :)

XOXO

Must-Have Cosmetics Series: Eyeliners

How many times have you thought " Do I look like a panda with this black eyeliner?" Solution: For a softer look with black eyeliner, line the top of you eyelids close to your eyelashes and then create a dotted line at the bottom rim of your eye and then smuge lightly. This will soften your look. * Also, try gray eyeliner for a softer look. Recommendation: Stila Covertable Eyecolor in Slate

LFA Gentleman

The Beauty of Tailoring

Greetings Gentleman. I'm going to delve into the craft of tailoring and its spectacular effects on the overall appearance of a suit. As business students a suit should be highly regarded and cherished within ones closet. One should sport his suit with pride and confidence rather than view it as a business school burden. A major fashion flaw that is plaguing young business students is the awkward fit of their suits. Oversize trousers and extra long jacket sleeves are unbecoming and can dwarf its wearer. A jacket which is too wide can often appear as sloppy and unattractive. With the assist of an tailor ones suit can fit close to their body structure and draw admiration from many. A tailor can taper trousers and eliminate extra fabric from jackets allow your body type to be reflected more accurately. A man sporting a well tailored suit catches the eyes of woman and the envy of men. In general to tailor an article of clothing is inexpensive and can create a fantastic look which rival suits of top designer finest.

Remember gentleman, A little extra time into your appearance welcomes unimaginable spoils.
Keep those ties knotted and shoes polished until next time.
